At Wellesley Prep, our Computing curriculum empowers children to thrive in an increasingly digital world. We equip pupils with essential 21st‑century skills, including computational thinking – algorithmic thinking, evaluation, decomposition, abstraction and generalisation. These skills nurture confident problem‑solvers and critical thinkers, preparing them for the rapidly evolving careers of the future.

 

In our dedicated computing suite, pupils develop the core knowledge and understanding of how computers and digital systems work. They learn to design and build programs, explore creative ideas using technology, and produce a wide range of digital content. Computing at Wellesley is hands‑on, imaginative, and designed to spark curiosity.

 

As technology evolves, pupils also develop age-appropriate understanding of artificial intelligence and digital literacy. They learn to think critically about emerging technologies and to use digital tools and AI safely, responsibly and purposefully.

 

Our digital learning tools include tablets, laptops, interactive displays, robotics kits and physical computing devices, enabling pupils to experience technology in meaningful and engaging ways across the curriculum. We aim for every child to use digital tools confidently and independently – not just to complete tasks, but to enhance and extend their learning.
