Headmaster

Angus McDonald Headmaster

I have worked in prep schools for the last 20 years, with roles that have spanned diverse settings and responsibilities. I began as a Housemaster at The Elms School, a small boarding prep school with its own farm and lots of happy, “free-range” children. I later held a similar position in Kenya, where I worked with children whose natural curiosity and risk-taking spirit defined their learning journey. Subsequently, I worked as a Senior Master at Fulham Prep in London for 7 years, with fewer fields but an abundance of cultural opportunities. In 2018 I joined Wellesley as Deputy Head and in 2023 I took on the role of Headmaster. We have three children at the school, I play the piano to the lowest standard imaginable, and I love to potter, with limited purpose, in the garden.
